Belau Bekiis (Wake up Palau)

Okay, admittedly, I have no idea if anyone actually ever reads my blog posts, but, nevertheless, I still feel obligated to apologize for not posting all year.

So… I’m sorry for not posting all year.

I’ve wanted to, but I’ve just been super busy. Between schoolwork and family obligations and more schoolwork, I just couldn’t find the time to compose even a short blog post.

I have been coming on occasionally to read others’ posts, though. That should count for something… I hope.

Again, sorry.

Okay, with that out of the way, let’s talk about my upcoming plans for 2023. I’ve sat down and really thought about things, and I really want this blog to be an authentic reflection of my writing journey.

I don’t want it to be a place where I’m only here when I have good news, or a place where I post well-researched article-style pieces like I’m some professional.

I want it to be more in line with my actual writing voice and style, and, honestly, just more honest.

So something more like an open dialogue where we can discuss craft, share resources, recommend books, and other stuff like that.

I’m also close to graduating with my BA in Creative Writing, and I wish I’d blogged more about the experience. It’s something I’ve been asked a bunch of questions about, and I feel like I missed an opportunity to record my thoughts as I went through it.

I’m sure it would have been helpful for somebody out there.

I know when I was thinking about going back to school to study creative writing, I searched and read everything I could about it on the internet.

Finally, I’m still deciding whether or not to cover cultural topics in this blog. Especially the culture war stuff. I’ve seen some of my favorite bloggers delve into that arena and, well, let’s just say a lot of bad takes.

But of course, like any other living, breathing human being, I also have my opinions on these things (which God knows might be bad takes, too!), but I’m wondering if it’s better to just avoid discussing them publicly.

Call me milquetoast, but I don’t wanna throw my hat in the ring if I feel I’m not really contributing anything useful to the conversation.

And anyway, I’d need a regular readership first before I can even start to make a dent one way or the other, so let’s get that sorted out first.

So yeah, I think that’s it.
